Chemours Opteon™ SF33 (HFO-1336mzz-Z) is a proprietary hydrofluoroolefin (HFO) specialty and two-phase direct-to-chip fluid with zero ozone depletion potential (ODP) and a very low global warming potential (GWP) of 2 (100-yr ITH).
It is a clear, colorless, nonflammable, thermally stable, low-toxicity fluid developed for liquid cooling, cleaning, drying and carrier-fluid industrial solvent applications. With a boiling point of 33.4 °C, Opteon™ SF33 is appropriate for replacing PFCs, HCFCs, PFPEs, HFCs and HFEs in industrial solvent applications.

Storage and Handling
Store in a clean, dry area, protect from freezing and do not allow stored product to exceed 46 °C. Vapor degreasing equipment with vapor containment technology is required to enable safe and economical use of the solvent. Not compatible with strong bases. FAQ
What is the difference between Opteon™ SF33 and Opteon™ SF80?
SF33 is a pure component (HFO-1336mzz-Z) with a 33.4 °C boiling point, Kb 11.3 and GWP 2 – for precision cleaning, rinsing, aerosols and two-phase cooling. SF80 is a blend with t-DCE with high solvency (Kb 99), a 47 °C boiling point and GWP <2.5 – for vapor degreasing and removal of oils, flux and silicone.
Are they flammable?
Neither fluid has a flash point (ASTM D56 / D1310). SF33 also shows no vapor flammability (ASTM E681). SF80 is classified as a nonflammable liquid by NFPA and DOT, but its vapor may become flammable in air at 7.25–15.25 vol%.
Will Opteon™ SF80 work in my existing degreaser?
According to Chemours, existing vapor degreasing equipment can in general be used with minor or no modifications. Contact ASI to check your process.
