Polyamide Tape is used to protect specific area of a PCB, normally the edge connector, during the wave soldering process. These tapes are manufactured by coating a polyamide backing film with a specially formulated, high cross linked silicone adhesive.

The formulation and method of manufacturing the adhesive confer to these tapes with the following characteristics:

• Excellent adhesion on all substrates, even at high temperature
• Very high cohesion within the adhesive
• Excellent heat resistance for up to a maximum temperature of 280oC
• Perfect anchorage of the adhesive to the backing
