Using flush mounts in combination with HOBEAM 04 or HOTBEAM 05 underheater devices may create a professional hand soldering work space with world highest ergonometric standards. PCB holders with only 20mm working height lower the working plane to just 20mm above table top.

A wide variety of different type PCB holders are available to fix PCB in 20mm height. Since the flush mounts are fabricated from steel the magnet feet from PCB holder can attach easily. All type holders are interchangeable and optimized to securely hold any PCB shape over the under heater. PCB Holders are spring loaded for repeatable positioning. This simple method of fixing PCBs has proven to be reliable over many years.

Securing PCBs in place during repair procedure sometimes becomes a tricky task: PCB edge-connectors  or  dense  population  of  components  can  make  clamping  and supporting PCBs difficult, especially if PCB are asymmetrical or non-rectangular.

All PCB clamps and PCB holders from 40.5 family can be used on EXPERT rework machines and HOTBEAM 05 underheater devices. These products provide free space between heating surface and PCB of 40.5 mm distance.

All PCB clamps and holders have magnet-feet to be most flexible in holding PCBs above underheater. This is important in particular when PCBs are non-symmetrical, have edge-population, or simply show an odd shape. Preferably clamps and holders are clicked on top of the system housing with their magnet feet, see photos next.

The unique Flex Support bars support large size and heavy PCB perfectly from underneath. The spring loaded pins from Flex Support bar will self-adjust to the down facing PCB topography and prevent the assembly from sacking down during rework process. Use of this tool reduces twisting and warping of PCB to very minimum. Any need for costly jigs to hold the PCBs might be re-discussed.

For repeatable processes and to archive good quality results a secure and stable fixation of electronic assemblies in rework is mandatory.

• New options for in-table-mounting are available for underheaters HOTBEAM 04 and HOTBEAM 05.  These allow underheaters to be completely integrated into tabletops so that the working height is the same as that of the surrounding work top.  Ergonomic as well as technical requirements for professional rework are therefore fully satisfied.
• Soldering small components and those with large contact areas, such as QFNs, TSSOPs and similar, on ‘warm’ printed circuit boards is kinder to components, PCBs and soldering iron tips.  IR Underheaters are often used to provide this background heat.  Unfortunately, the increased working height at which users have to work with soldering irons make such physical arrangements uncomfortable to use to the extend that the introduction of Underheaters is sometimes met with rejection.
• Anyone with responsibilities for production facilities will want these to be as efficient as possible.  Especially where repetitive actions occur, such as often with hand soldering, ergonomic considerations are very important.  Apart from the increased motivation a workstation arranged according to good ergonomic principles will also improve productivity and quality.  The cause of these effects is reduced operator fatigue because of relaxed posture and arm positions.
• An additional benefit is the fact that the table integrated Underheater no longer has to be removed from the workspace and stored away.  Just the customary ESD mat on top suffices to reinstate the ‘normal’ bench space!
• Low clamping PCB holders are available.  With 20mm clamping height, they complete the under heater application with the right accessories.

The graphical display of temperature reading allows a decent optimization of heating profiles. Profile parameter can be adjusted at the Monitor and the profile name can be entered with PC keyboard easily. This user interface allows a process documentation for audit purposes.

For EASYBEAMV2 the underheater is connected via USB with the PC and the software is started. EASYBEAM V2 loads the profiles into the PC and allows the user to either run profiles or modify parameter. At the end of optimization profiles might be saved back into the underheater device.

More over the back-up of heating profiles is possible. By loading profiles from the underheater and saving them to an external memory they are protected from unwanted changes – once defined processes can be reinstalled easily.

The important LOCK-function can be activated from EASYBEAM V2 only. This function disables the change of profile parameter from front panel of the device. It is a strong feature for all processes with high QC standards.

The SMART DISPENSE 06 is a professional dispenser for manual applications that require high accuracy and repeatability. These dispensers also allow heating the dispensing nozzle. The all-electronic dispensers use dispensing recipes for storing the application parameter. Thus, the dispensing pressure and the nozzle temperature are automatically set as specified after selection of the recipe. A temperature sensor inside the dispensing pen measures the cartridge temperature. The SMART DISPENSE 06 control unit compensates viscositychange dependent on the material and determines the optimum parameter to guarantee a stable dispensing result. The dispensing recipes can easily be adjusted to new materials and applications, which provides maximum process control to the user. Temperature insulated dispensing pens are available for common cartridge sizes in order to avoid material heating when dispensing by the user. In use of high viscous material viscosity-setting is possible by means of an optional integrated nozzle heater inside the dispensing pen. 1K material from liquid to pasty can also be processed reliably. In use of low viscous material formation of drops on the dispensing needle is avoided by means of manual retain vacuum. Dispensing programs are created, optimized and managed well-arranged on the PC using the software CLEVER DISPENSE Pro.

The CLEVER DISPENSE 06 is a professional dispenser for applications that require highest accuracy and a maximum control of material viscosity. These dispensers allow heating of the dispensing nozzle and cartridge. The CLEVER DISPENSE 06 H DP Sets are designed for manual dispensing operations. The all-electronic dispensers whose dispensing pressure, temperature and retain vacuum are program-controlled use the time-pressure-technology. This allows reliable dispensing of very small dots and lines of liquid to pasty material either as 1K-type or 2K-type. The MINIOVEN 05 is a compact and robust table-top device specially designed for re-balling of BGAs and pre-bumping of QFN components. Its highly efficient hybrid heating technology heats-up the electronic components like in a standard reflow oven: Gently and simultaneously from all sides and guarantees repeatable process results with high yield.  MINIOVEN 05 is perfect for use in both production and R&D environments.

The large display and the 4 button front panel layout enable fast set-up and administration of up to 25 re-balling profiles which can be saved in the device. Profiles can be taught with the device’s auto profiler software. The MINIOVEN 05 uses readings from a second temperature sensor which is connected to the oven and attached next to the BGA to measure the IC temperature. Aninput for thr use of process gasses (such as nitrogen) is factory set.

The PC software EASYBEAM is included and can be used to download profiles, i.e. for easy back-up and upload of re-balling profiles i.e. from a production server. The SMART DESOLDER combines a manual hot gas source with a vacuum pen for extraction of residual solder. Damage to the pads from overheating or mechanical stress is avoided through targeted heating of the residual solder after lifting the component. The temperature-controlled airflow prevents the neighboring components from warming up. After melting, the residual solder is removed contactless by the vacuum pen. The use of a Teflon tip in the vacuum pen offers outstanding features: the nonstick effect, the temperature-resistance and the mechanically soft surface of the material. As a stand-alone device, it virtually fits on any work bench and can be operated very flexible with two handheld pens.
